I sit on the same bench as Mia, but right on the other end.

I peek inside the lunchbox my dad packed for me. As I FEARED, it’s all GREEN!

Luckily, I’m not hungry. At all. I close the lid tightly and PEEK over at Mia. She’s busy working on something in a large, GLITTERY notebook balanced on her knees.

I finally muster up the COURAGE to speak. ‘What are you drawing?’

Without looking up from her notebook, Mia answers, ‘Unicorns!’

I try not to roll my eyes. ‘Can I see?’

Mia stops drawing and looks across, sizing me up. After careful consideration she decides to show me what she’s working on. I immediately take back my eye roll. These unicorns are AWESOME!
